I met a guy the other day and mentioned Jesus Christ in conversation and somehow for some reason, it feels unnatural to bring up Jesus Christ and His Kingdom in normal everyday conversation. We can easily talk about politics, weather, sports, and finances.
Maybe it's just me but Satan has done a fair job of making Jesus less comfortable to talk about. I hope to purposefully and intentionally and diligently get out of that and teach my children to talk about Jesus more. I want to learn to ask more questions and think about eternity and how eternity plays out in others' answers.
“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
“Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will travel to such and such a city and spend a year there and do business and make a profit.” You don’t even know what tomorrow will bring — what your life will be! For you are like smoke that appears for a little while, then vanishes. Instead, you should say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” But as it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. So it is a sin for the person who knows to do what is good and doesn’t do it.”
James 4:13-17 HCSB
One thing I need to do is memorize more scripture! I need to hide more of His word in my heart!
“My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, listening closely to wisdom and directing your heart to understand; furthermore, if you call out to insight and lift your voice to understanding if you seek it like silver and search for it like hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and discover the knowledge of God.”
Proverbs 2:1-5 HCSB
I love you guys. Be great husbands and wives, great dads and moms, great leaders, great servers, great Christians today!
