I want to challenge Christians today. A common phrase that defines the purpose or vision of Intend to Live is to help Christ followers wear their faith, share their faith, and be comfortable doing it.
That being said, and with the “rona” going around, we have a unique situation at hand. First of all, we can’t go to church and meet with our brothers and sisters in the faith. We can’t get together with extended family and dress up in our Easter best followed by gatherings of celebration and feasting. We are less distracted by our own agendas for Easter weekend and resurrection day, Easter!
Second, people are scared of getting sick and scared of dying. And for good reason. They don’t know what will happen to them when they die and God has put eternity in all our hearts. I think people are scared of dying because of the unknown. I also think people are scared of dying because deep down, they know that if they don’t do something, something very important, death will not bring good things. But we know it doesn’t have to be that way.
So here’s the challenge. Invite people to watch and listen to your Easter service that normally you would not think to invite or be able to accommodate because of your weekend plans with family.
Here’s an example of an email you can copy and paste and make your own:
I hope you and yours are doing well and staying healthy. I’m looking forward to when life gets back to normal and we can get together. Maybe we can even go out to eat at a restaurant again.
One thing my family will be doing on Sunday is watching our Easter service at https://www.crosschurch.
Would you join us and others to watch our services on Sunday?
I was thinking recently about why some people don’t believe in the physical resurrection of Jesus Christ. People don’t believe in Jesus because they’ve not been told about Him or because they’ve chosen not to believe in Him for some reason or another. Over 41% have not heard about Jesus according to the Joshua Project, https://
John 10:10 HCSB
That’s Jesus being quoted there.
If you or someone you know has a hard time believing in Jesus, here’s something to check out:
It’s hard to believe a lot of things. Jesus is someone worth putting some time and energy into. The truth is ”…Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the Twelve. Then He appeared to over 500 brothers at one time; …Then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one abnormally born, He also appeared to me.”
1 Corinthians 15:3-8 HCSB
Please join me and my family watching our Easter service.
I appreciate you,
Of course, you could just take the first part where the link to your service would go and be done after that. Make it your own and consider who you are sending it to and make it personal.
The challenge is to share this with 10 to 40 friends of yours who you don’t know for sure will spend eternity with Jesus when they die. If they might be going to Hell, email them something like the above. Plant some seeds. If you do this today, this afternoon, they are more likely to see it and do it than if you wait.
Don’t hesitate to do good,
Intend to Live
