Jesus changes everything!
Thank God for Jesus Christ.
Just like Jesus made His way to meet with the Samaritan Woman, He has made his way to meet with you. He wants to establish and build a relationship with you, for your sake!
“Jesus answered, “If you knew the gift of God, and who is saying to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would ask Him, and He would give you living water.”
John 4:10 HCSB
He wants to give you the gift of God, the living water. What is the living water? It is eternal life! It is The Way, The Truth, The Life! It is The Resurrection. It is what we celebrate at Easter…Jesus Christ alive, giving us forgiveness, mercy, grace, and reconciliation! That’s worth celebrating! That’s worth telling others about.
Just like Zacchaeus was shameless and excited to meet with Jesus and get to know him, so I hope you are too. I hope we all are! Zacchaeus was wealthy and had every reason to be pious and prideful. He was wealthy and had some power and authority he could weld over those around him as a tax collector, a chief tax collector. Just like Jesus took the Samaritan Woman and lifted her up to status by loving her greatly and offering her forgiveness, grace, and salvation, He also did the same for Zacchaeus by changing him from a man of greed and wealth, to a man of love and generosity.
But Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, “Look, I’ll give half of my possessions to the poor, Lord! And if I have extorted anything from anyone, I’ll pay back four times as much! ””
Luke 19:8 HCSB
Paul was zealous and pious for sure. Again, an encounter with Jesus Christ changed his entire life’s direction. He went from persecuting the church to being a catalyst and church planter among the gentiles so they could be part of Abraham’s family too!
Jesus Christ fulfilled the scriptures. This carpenter changed the world forever. He wasn’t just a carpenter who changed the world by dying on a cross. He is God, who came down to earth and made himself low for our sakes to die for us, defeat death, and then raise from the dead 3 days later. He is alive today. He is in full control and has all power in heaven and on earth.
This is a guy to follow. This is a God to worship. Jesus Christ is God. If you have not, I hope you will make Him King of your life today. If you have already done that, I hope you will celebrate that well this Easter and be ever grateful to Him.
Wear your faith, share your faith, and be comfortable doing it!
